There are multiple ways to get to the lodge from abroad. To get to Minga Lodge from an international flight, you can fly into Guayaquil’s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport or Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport Ecuador. There are daily flights into both of these major cities in Ecuador.

Here are some of the international airlines that service both airports:

Once in Ecuador, there are a few ways to get to Minga Lodge via plane

From Quito:

From the Galapagos:

Option 1: You can fly directly to Coca from Seymour Galapagos Ecological Airport, serving the island of Baltra and connecting to Santa Cruz via water taxi and bus.

Option 2: San Cristobal Airport located on the island of San Cristobal. There are sometimes also connecting flights from these airports through Guayaquil to Coca.

From Quito:

Once you land at Coca airport, you will be met for a five-minute road transfer with your bags to Coca port for your motorized canoe transfer upriver to Minga Lodge.  The canoe ride is about two hours and is the beginning of your Amazon adventure! As you ride up the Rio Napo, the only river and way in and out of the Amazon, you will see so many interesting things including:

  • Spectacular views
  • Jungle forest
  • Amazing birdlife
  • Small villages
  • People gold panning
  • Sumaco volcano

We provide you with beverages and snacks and even have waterproof ponchos onboard if we encounter a little rain. It is the Amazon after all.
